Hedingham Medical Centre Development Update
We are delighted to announce that further formal approval has been granted by the NHS Essex ICB to progress with the highly anticipated development of the new Hedingham Medical Centre. This new medical centre is part of a collaborative effort between OneMedical Property, Hedingham Medical Centre, NHS Essex Integrated Care Board, Braintree District Council, and local residents and community groups. We are now working closely with our design team to bring the project to life, and site signage will be going up soon to keep the community informed as things progress. We’re also planning a community information session to give residents the chance to find out more and ask questions, so keep an eye out for further details in the coming months.
A medical centre for all
Following consultation with key stakeholders, Braintree District Council, Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board and local groups, we have designed a new building that is contemporary in design while also being sympathetic to the local area.
The new building will be an energy-efficient and sustainable Medical Centre for the local community to be proud of, offering services that will meet your current and emerging health care needs.
Hedingham Medical Centre currently serves its patients from three sites and will relocate to Osier Way following the completion of the new building. OneMedical Property will be the landlord of the new building and your NHS services will continue to be run and delivered by the team at Hedingham Medical Centre.
Your fully accessible Medical Centre will offer:
- Parking facilities, an ambulance bay, drop-off zone, charging stations and a cycle shelter.
- Dispensary serving prescriptions during the centre’s open times.
- Bat and bird boxes to support local biodiversity.
- Attractive external landscaping to include a community garden.
The new building is on course to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, which is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for planning buildings. Find out more here.
